Be an REI Sharp Shooter: Aim your Browser at New GaryBoomershine.com Community Pages and Fire!

Monday, August 11th, 2008

I wanted to let you all know that we’re rolling out the Community section here at GaryBoomershine.com. To kick it off, I’ve posted some events I’m participating in as summer blasts into fall.

I’ll soon be adding more info to the Community section that’ll include links to my favorite social networking sites and other treats to help GaryBoomershine.com Community Members to always stay in touch and on top of the best in REI.

Here are some intriguing details I have so far for three outstanding REI events that are lighting up my radar like an early Christmas tree. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the latest developments as they unfold.

Colin Egbert Shatters the Real Estate Seminar Mold

  • Event: Real Estate Investor Connect
  • Where: Columbus, Ohio
  • When: Sept. 12 – Sept. 14, 2008
  • What to Expect:

This event is another bright idea conceived and organized by RealEstateInvestor.com’s co-founder Colin Egbert. He says it is his cure for the real estate seminar doldrums he’s found in the two predictable types of events he’s found himself attending recently: If they’re affordable, they’re too-often endless pitch marathons with little substance to most investors; If they offer great content, chances are good that they’re too expensive for many folks to attend.

From what I’ve seen, Real Estate Investor Connect is offering the all the top-notch content you’d expect from one of those high-priced events for a mere fraction of the price.

Perhaps the best news of all is that Colin is giving me license to give deep discounts on attendance to a limited number of my friends. Keep your eye on this blog for details about how you can attend this event and save your money for your business.

Rumor Mill: This is Your Chance to Win a Free House

As if hanging out with me at a world-class resort and hearing my talk about exactly why marketing is Everything in this business isn’t adequate motivation to check out the REI Summit, rumor has it that one of the event’s organizers plans to hold a drawing to award a free house to a random — and lucky –attendee.

I’ll share more details when I get them, but I do know this much: in addition to hosting talks and sessions offered by some of the greatest minds working U.S. real estate markets today, the event being held at a posh facility with gourmet food, an on-site luxury spa, golf courses and a massive water park.

REI Boot Camp, Texas Style

Richard Roop and Dan Doran’s legendary boot camps take a multi-faceted, immersion approach to quickly delivering the tools and knowledge you need to meet your most pressing real estate marketing, sales and negotiations challenges.

Here, I’ll be talking about how SalesTeamLive’s automated direct mail marketing services seamlessly integrate with and launch from Roop and Doran’s platform for amassing tremendous real estate wealth.

Tip: Your carefully designed, interactive training experience begins immediately upon enlistment, starting with an array of free training materials that were designed to prepare you for active participation in your Boot Camp experience, so be sure to register early for this event.

Around this time next week, I’ll be heading off to Atlanta, meeting up with my friend Lou Brown to help kick off his first one-day only “Real Estate Money Machine Exposition,” which promises to be another one of his awesome real estate investing (REI) seminars. LAREIC Hosts Investor Essentials Seminar

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

I’ll be heading south on Saturday to check out the Los Angeles Real Estate Investors Club’s (LAREIC) Investor Essentials Seminar. I’ll be teaching entrepreneurs how to Make Tons of Cash in Creative Real Estate and explaining how their success hinges on effective marketing. There is a lot more to this than just a catchy lesson title. Clearly, greenbacks don’t raise the dead or cure cancer, but tons of cash — especially in creative real estate — is the lubricant for success.

It has been statistically proven that seven out of 10 millionaires in the United States have made their fortunes in real estate. In the meantime, the other three have kept their millions by investing in real estate. This is all true even in California, where RealtyTrac reports bank repossessions are up 557 percent over this time last year. While these figures represent devastation for many, real estate investors are beginning to see new opportunities emerge on the market’s horizon.

There is no disputing the credit crunch and the market downturns in the Golden State have taken their toll. As a California real estate investor, I know what the conditions are, just as I understand their cyclical nature. I’ve bought and sold hundreds of properties, and have seen Bay Area markets rise and fall like the tides.

But despite the market’s persistent downturn, if you’re buying right and getting the good deals, you’ve got great potential to succeed. In my business, SalesTeamLive, I see this happening every day. We have more than 800 people using our Done-For-You marketing service and we’ve sent out more than 8 million mailers for folks across the country. In the past six months alone, we’ve generated over 40,000 inbound calls. This business gives me a bird’s eye view of what’s happening in markets throughout the nation.

I see viable real estate investment opportunities in many markets, but especially in California. People are picking up properties for 50 to 60 cents on the dollar. And if they’re buying right, there are plenty of motivated and qualified buyers out there who will take them off their hands.

However, I’ve also noticed that, especially with the gloomy headlines, the credit crunch and the market’s woes, a lot of us tend to be fearful, become overwhelmed and procrastinate. This Saturday in L.A., I’m going to teach entrepreneurs how they can overcome the negativity and show them exactly what their time is really worth. Using the right tools, real estate investors can still write their own tickets to the destinations of their choice.

In California specifically we’re coming into one of the best buying opportunities of all time. If you’re using the right model and you already know what works, you don’t have to invent it. It’s easy to make money right now in this market if you have the success formula.

If you can’t be in L.A on Saturday, please remember that you don’t have to innovate to make it in this business:

  • If you want success, it comes down to marketing;
  • If you want survival, it comes down to automation and delegation;
  • If you want wealth, it is waiting for your call.

If you would like to hear an audio preview of my presentation, recorded during a phone conversation with LAREIC President Phyllis Rockower, it is freely available on her Investor Essentials registration site.

Who’s Who in Real Estate Investing?

Friday, April 11th, 2008

I’m off to present to the Pitch Free Seminar this weekend in sunny Tampa, Fla. With all the amazing talent that will be on hand, it may be hard for anyone to get to the beach. This event is one of my personal favorites because it offers investors practical, hands-on, guidance in successfully implementing all the latest secrets, techniques and strategies. I also like it because it gives me a rare opportunity to spend quality time with real estate entrepreneurs of all experience levels, representing virtually every market in the U.S.

Of course, I was honored when I was invited to address the event’s attendees, but I always am thrilled with a great chance to work directly with other investors. I want to understand where other investors are coming from — and where they’re headed in the future. This is the stuff that fuels my business success. It also helps me to develop intuitive, cutting-edge marketing tools that serve the needs of real-world real estate entrepreneurs.

This time around, host Mike Collins has lined up a veritable who’s who in the Real Estate Investing community. Steve Cook, Larry Goins, Than Merrill, Heather Seitz, Tim Mai, Cris Chico, Preston Ely, Brenda Ayala, Mark Jackson, and I will all be on-hand to swap stories, teach and learn.

If any of you have attended any trainings or seminars that stick out in your mind, please share your stories.

Millionaire Deal Maker Training in Atlanta

Friday, March 21st, 2008

This time next week, I’ll be in Atlanta, meeting up with my friend Lou Brown for “Millionaire Deal Maker,” another one of his awesome seminars. You may know Lou as an expert in the structure of the deal, but I’ve known him as a friend  for years. Actually, we met at one of his events, where he confided in me his impressive story about how he achieved success in this business.

Lou started buying property in 1977, when he was a teenager! Since then, he’s invested in single-family homes, apartments, hotels, developed subdivisions and built and renovated homes and apartments. He’s bought and sold in many ways, including auctions. The wealth of knowledge he’s shared with me over the years has really broadened my horizons about how a truly creative entrepreneur can secure financing and structure dream deals.

I’m not the only one who is impressed with Lou. He’s been quoted by “The Wall Street Journal” and “Smart Money” Magazine, among others, as an expert in real estate investing, managing and financing. He also has taught me a lot about how to give back to my community. Lou is past-president and a lifetime member of the Georgia Real Estate Investor Association (GREIA). He also is the founding president of the National Real Estate Investors Association (NREIA), which works with local investor groups nationwide.

I’ll soon be sharing what I learn in Atlanta, and keep you posted on all the best events as we head into a busy season of buying, selling and training to make the most out of the next great deal. Although I’ll attend his events anywhere he holds him, I had an especially good time on one of his famous cruises … that some may consider infamous.

If any of you have attended any trainings that stick out in your mind, please share your stories.
